Public Safety Innovation (PSI) Lab

Cutting-Edge Public Safety Research

Join Us

We enjoy working with students to carry out meaningful research on public safety issues, with a particular emphasis on policing and violence.

Research Assistant (RA) Positions

Our lab regularly recruits undergraduate and graduate students to serve as Research Assistants (RAs), including as volunteers, for course credit (through directed studies or internship courses), or through Barrett, the Honors College. RAs play a key role in the Lab and participate in all aspects of the Lab’s research activities.

As an RA, you will work hands-on with faculty and other students on a research project. Your responsibilities will vary widely depending on the project you are working on. Typically, they will involve collecting and cleaning data, helping with data analysis and report writing, doing interviews and observations, and attending weekly project meetings.

We ask students to commit to the Lab for at least two semesters and to work on our projects for 8-10 hours/week during the academic year.

Paid Positions

We do not currently have any open paid positions.
