Biography:

Teairstayn Jones is a fourth-year doctoral candidate at Arizona State University in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Her research centers on critical issues such as victim-blaming perceptions, help-seeking behavior, and sexual victimization and assault, particularly in the context of college campuses. Jones is also exploring the impact of social networks on victims’ healing processes and the effectiveness of sexual assault education programs. She graduated from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice, complemented by minors in Sociology and Communication, in May 2021. She furthered her academic journey by earning a Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from ASU in May 2022. Her commitment to understanding and addressing the complexities of victimization continues to drive her research and advocacy efforts within the field.
