Alumni, faculty, staff, students or friends of CCJ may nominate an alum. All CCJ alumni who have graduated are eligible for nomination. Current students and alumni without degrees are not eligible.
John R. Hepburn Alumni Scholar Award - for outstanding scholarly contributions to the discipline of criminology and criminal justice by a person who has received the M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. from the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at ASU. This award is meant to be given to a former graduate student who is now an academic conducting scholarly work. The person should be an established academic (e.g., an associate professor or higher rank) and should have graduated at least 6 years ago. The award is based on their scholarly impact.
Early Career Excellence Award This award is bestowed for demonstrating notable early-career accomplishments that indicate future success for contributions to the fields of criminology and criminal justice through research, practice, or policy. This award is meant to be given to a person who has received the B.A., M.A., M.S., or PhD. from the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at ASU as a means to recognize “up and coming” stars, whether that be in the practitioner, policy, or academic realm. As such, the person who receives this award should have graduated within the last 6 years. The award will be based on their impact within their particular realm, whether that be academic, practice, or policy.
Dr. Marie Griffin Distinguished Alumni Award is bestowed for having made significant contributions to the advancement of criminology and criminal justice through distinguished leadership achievements as a practitioner in one of the justice professions. This award is meant to be given to a person who has received the B.A., M.A., M.S., or PhD from the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at ASU and exists wholly (or primarily) within the practitioner and/or administrative space. The person who receives this award should be an established practitioner/administrator that should have graduated at least 10 years ago. The award is based on their impact within their profession/area of specialization.
