We are socially embedded within our communities, and we work together with our partners to achieve the following goals:
Develop and facilitate internship opportunities that provide students with education and training and partner agencies with motivated students who can contribute to the agency's mission.
Combine the academic knowledge of faculty and students with the knowledge of lived experiences of people who are incarcerated to produce innovative solutions to problems that have traditionally relied on one source of knowledge over the other.
Educate the general public on both the challenges experienced by people in the correctional system and the difficulties by correctional administrators and staff in addressing the risks and needs of people who are in the system.
