Dr. Travis Pratt is an Associate Professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University. Professor Pratt earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 2001. He is the author of more than forty-five refereed articles which have appeared in journals such as Criminology, Justice Quarterly, Crime and Delinquency, the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Advances in Criminological Theory, and Crime and Justice: An Annual Review. He is also the author of Addicted to Incarceration: Corrections Policy and the Politics of Misinformation in the United States (2009, Sage). Dr. Pratt is the recipient of the Ruth Shonle Cavan Award for the Outstanding Young Scholar of the American Society of Criminology. He is a nationally recognized expert in the areas of criminological theory, criminological policy and correctional reform.
